Up and down and down and up...the weather.  We've gone from below freezing to 70 degrees and back agin, since New Years.  We've had snow, ice, and everything else.  We've been to park twice this month and gone sledding in the yard.  T-shirts and jeans to fuzzy sweaters and snowsuits.  I could go on, but you get the picture.  The weather here has been crazy!!  We have been in the high 40s low 50s

Yep, December already. Three months has gone past and it is time again for Dad's MRI. To recap, the last MRI showed his main tumor was dead, but new tumors were forming. Dad made it through his third round of chemo. He was in more pain and had more nausea this time. He was convinced he had caught the flu from the hospital, since the side-effects were more pronounced. He is home now and recovering. We should know by the end of the week when his next MRI is to see if chemo #4 is necessary.

Sunday, we hit the Zoo. I know what you are thinking, "but Sarah, it was 95 degrees on Sunday with a heat index of 105." Damn straight! Let me clarify, we visited the Zoo first thing in the morning, think 8ish, to take advantage of all the free stuff. Many attractions are free the first hour the Zoo is open. Dad has another MRI on the 3rd. 25% of Floyd was left last time, this time we are hoping for a much smaller percentage. Dad did not tolerate the chemo as well this time. He was in a lot of pain and had digestive issues which bought him an ER trip. He has been really tried and run down. So, Dad's MRI got changed to the 29th, (without his permission, I might add). That was fairly uneventful, in fact it took less time then the previous one. Dad is home now. He had a bunch of tests, several hospital gaffes, and no answers. The hospital took too long to test for a stroke, so all evidence was gone. That is a slight understatement! Dad made it through his TACE proceedure on Thursday and came home to my house Friday afternoon. Good News! The cancer is localized to the liver; it has not spread anywhere else. Bad news, there are few options other then surgery to remove the tumor. We received results from Dad's biopsy today. He has liver cancer. He goes to see the oncologist on Tuesday and will have a PET scan to determine if there is anymore cancer in his body. We officially took the plunge last week and started potty training. We had a bit of a rough start, but things are going well. I realized the, 'pull up', training pants are a bit of a joke. They are a glorified diaper. The only good use I can see is being in the car all day. I switched to the Gerber cotton training pants and they make a world of difference. Plus, I save a bunch of $$. Busy time right now! Eric is back at the grad school grind. Unlike last summer, his class this summer is a full semester, meaning he is in class until the middle of August. It sort of messes the summer up, but that is okay. If people want to see us they will have to come here :) We have had all kinds of visitors in the last few weeks. I cannot express how busy this May has/will be. We started the month with the death of a beloved Family friend, Tony. He was a classmate of my Dads and a clase friend. He died at his computer, out of the blue.-----------------------------------------------On a nicer note, poor Eric had all this vacation time racked up and has to use some, or he would lose it. No sooner had Alex starting sitting up, he began pulling himself up. He is quite pleased with himself. I think he is getting more teeth. Here is Alex's 10 month picture. He has recently gained two more teeth on top; one on either side of his two front teeth. This brings the teeth total to 6. He started sitting up by himself on Tuesday morning, but I was unable to get a pic until Wed. This will be our last week at the noon Wednesday spot at Gymboree. I am going to bump him up the week after Easter. Hopefully I can find another good

...there are new lambs! We went to the farm on Sunday to see everybody and to see the new little lambs. There is one currently being bottle fed by Larry, so it is somewhat friendly. It would come up to Larry and it liked being petted. Alex wasn't too sure about petting the lamb at first, but warmed up to him when he found out its fur was soft, like the kitties' fur. Although it wasn't the 4th of July, it was FEBRUARY!! We took advantage of the unseasonibly warm weather we had last weekend and early this week. We took Alex to the James J. Eagon center park in Florissant. It was around 70 degrees here on Saturday and I was a bit surprised the park was mostly empty.
