Meanwhile, back at the ranch.....
...there are new lambs! We went to the farm on Sunday to see everybody and to see the new little lambs. There is one currently being bottle fed by Larry, so it is somewhat friendly. It would come up to Larry and it liked being petted.
Alex wasn't too sure about petting the lamb at first, but warmed up to him when he found out its fur was soft, like the kitties' fur.
I also got ambitious on Wednesday night and rearranged the furniture in the living room. I had the couch against the window and the chair in the corner and that left quite a bit of unusable space. I moved the couch over to the where the chair was and angled it and then moved the chair to the center. I was afraid the couch wouldn't fit, but I was pleasantly surprised. I did have it flush with the wall, but it looked nicer angled. I now know we could get a sectional couch someday, YAY!!!! Next weekend I am off to Indy for another baby shower, (there must be something in the water!), for Bethie Anderson. I am anxious to see everybody and to see Lisa Lecher's house.

Somthing So Minor
You would think I could be a mature adult about things...but I guess I have my moments:) The monitor on my computer quit, so I have been using the office computer. This has its own set of challenges, due to Eric working at home three days a week. I honestly have not set down at the computer since Thursday afternoon (and I think I was getting a bit panicky). I got a bit whiney with Eric over the monitor, so he is looking at it right now. The odds are in favor of a new one one. I missed being able to check email and facebook. I just felt so out-of-the-loop. With that said, if I am not around much, it is because I still haven't gotten a new monitor and my office time is limited :)

If I Could Be King......
Happy Fat Tuesday to all!! Alex is decked out in his "King" Pjs. To commerate this Fat Tuesday, I made a King Cake from scratch. I was told it was pretty good, as it went with Eric to work and I had none of it.
Alex had his 9 month Well Baby exam. He he 19 lbs and 28 inches long. He didn't gain weight since his 6 month, but is gaining length. I got out his 9 month clothing and he just swims in it :) He is about to out grow his car seat(he has once inch left), so we are looking into his next one.

Saturday In The Park
Although it wasn't the 4th of July, it was FEBRUARY!! We took advantage of the unseasonibly warm weather we had last weekend and early this week. We took Alex to the James J. Eagon center park in Florissant. It was around 70 degrees here on Saturday and I was a bit surprised the park was mostly empty. I was anticipating muddy ground, but the ground was still frozen, so minimal mud!
Alex enjoyed the swing the most. I don't have a swing for him at home, so this is quite a treat!
He did enjoy the feel of the sand, although I did not like the 'items' found in the sand
Eric has put in 120+ hours in the last week at work. Whether he will get paid for that much is yet to be seen. He was working on a component and ran into some 3rd party 'issues'. He eventually solved them, but it took him a long time.
Alex is enjoying therapy more. He has figured out he can play with the toys Peggy puts out and that takes his mind off of what is going on. He is really loosening up in his hips, which makes a difference in his movement. He has had a bit of a cold this week, but I think it is related to a new tooth coming in. He won't let me check and see which tooth. He is drooling buckets and chewing again :) He is eating more solids and finger food. The only food he isn't thrilled about is pasta. He isn't fond of the texture, but eats it anyway. I am really trying to make an effort to have him eat only organic, but that is easier said then done. The nearest organic market is by Gymboree and I can only go once every week or two. I am trying to get things from out local grocery stores, but it is getting challenging to find organics.

2 weeks
Goodness, has it been two weeks?!? Alex turned 8 months old on Friday. He is enjoying his foray into solid food. He has really taken to his sippy cup and enjoys drinking from it. Still not fully crawling; however he does this army crawl/inch worm thing that is a hoot! He has also learned to 'pet' Gabby nicely and know what the word 'kitty' means. He is enjoying Gymboree. He likes the parachute time because it reminds him of peek-a-boo.
This coming week will be a busy one. We have PT, Gymboree, a Halmark focus group (i get paid to talk about Halmark products, squee!), and going home for a couple of days.
Eric has been busy going back to class. He spent most of Saturday morning doing math problems he deemed 'easy'. He has only had two classes, but homework already! Our garage door opener also quit this week, so he and John are replacing it this evening. It was 20+ years old, so it had ran its course. I cleaned closets this weekend and packed some baby stuff away.

Because Frankie Says Relax!
Last week was somewhat relaxing...we had an empty schedule due to PT being canceled because Peggy was sick. We managed to go out with some friends on Tuesday evening and I fed my Sephora addiction :) Eric worked on continuing babyproofing the stairs going up. We put up plastic sheeting between the spindles on the landing and a gate at the top. Basically, Alex can now be on the landing while we are around and play safely. I just felt badly putting him in the pack and play all the time when I needed to work upstairs. This way he has much more room and can be stretchie baby!
Still not quite crawling yet. He does this really cure inch worm thing where he gets his rear in the air and lunges forward. He LOVES being able to move around and pick different toys to play with. We did start him on a sippy cup, essentially for fine motor skills sake, and he has taken to it well. I think his biggest accomplishment in the last week is learning how to pet Gabby correctly. (Molly doesn't let him touch her) He gets all giggly when he has the oppertunity to pet Gabby and of course Gabby loves it. Her goal in life is to be petted.
Gymboree starts Wednesday. I scheduled a class right before Open Gym time, so we can do both. Although we won't do Open Gym this week. I am anxious to get Alex started, but I am not looking forward to the drive and cost. I wish there was one closer, but there is only one in the entire STL area. If I had the money, I would invest in a franchise!

Christmas Recap
I do apologize for taking so long to post. This has been one of the busiest holiday seasons ever! Alex turned 7 months just before Christmas.
He is getting more mobile.....not quite crawling, but getting on his knees and rocking, and moving a bit backwards.
We spent Christmas morning at home. We had Christmas with my family that afternoon and again in the evening. 3 Christmasses in 1 day is too much!!
After spending a few days at home, we came back and I went home again to take Dad to the oral surgeon in Danville. He had a tooth removed and it was giving him problems. It is nice to go "home home" again, but it is quite sad to see how dilapidated our county has become.
This week Edward, Eric's brother, has been here. I went to the Action/Abstraction exhibit at the Art Museum. I am a sucker for a good Jackson Pollack and Ad Reinhardt
-----------------------------------------------
We got a reorder for more PT. Right now his hips, pelvis, and jaw are being worked on. Each session gets better and better. I am hoping to be finished by the spring!! Also, I am hoping to start Gymboree in the next couple of weeks. It will require a bit of travel, Webster Groves, but I think it will be well worth it.
